(3) That there are more women than men in professional occupations, excluding clerical staffs, hut including religious organisations, law, medicine, etc. They numbered 359,982 females a,nd 306,830 males. (4) The occupation that with two exceptions, has repulsed the attack of women ? It js that of stationary engine drivers and dynamo motoiattendants. Males employed numbered 156,281 and females two. (5) Wntio aliens earn tlieir bread and butte: ? They are by no means composed mainly of .'the insinuating gentry of the serviette and wine list. The making of textile goods and articles employed most, namely, 21,920 male's and 7474 females. They were also occupied: In commerce, finance, and insurance, 21,262: in transport- and communication, 10,539; in personal service, 24,554. Fritz and Antonio are in a decided minority in the .army of 101,638 males and? 30,694 females of foreign birth, who were gaining a livelihood in Britain in 1921. 'The order of numeral strength was: (1) Russians. (2) Poles, (3) French. (4) Italians, (5) Germans.
