HAWERA HOSPITAL BOARD.

I MONTHLY MEETING. The Hawera Hospital Board continued their meeting yesterday, there being present: Messrs' P, Gillanders (chair), G. W. Tavler, J. J. Meldon, A. Wills, J. S. McKay, E. A. Washer, A., G. Larcom, A. Campbell and E. J. Gifford, The board passed a vote of .sympathy with Mr A. Campbell in the death of his, mother The Hawera Trotting Club and the Egmont Racing Club each forwarded i donation of £lO. 1 . It was decided to write acknowledging the donations, and thanking the clubs for their generosity. The secretary said that the donations would bear a subsidy of £1 for £l. _ Advice was received of Mr A. O. Von Heisenberg’s appointment as secretai-y of the Hospital Boards’ Association. It was also stated that boards’ subscriptions, levied at the rate of one-fifteenth per cent of expenditure, fixed the Hawera Board’s subscription at £l2. The board agreed to forward the subscription. Tire chairman submitted a report on the business dealt with at the' recent Hospital Boards’ Conference at Auckland, dealing specially with matters of interest to the Hawera Board. At the conclusion of the report he mentioned the fine manner in which the Auckland Hospital Board had attended to the entertainment of the visitors, Mr G. W. Tavler also supporting the chair-man’s-remarks in this direction.

The hoard decided to write thanking the Auckland Board for their courtesy and attention to the visitors.
