ANNUAL MEETING
EXPENSES OF ENTERTAINMENT.
At the mooting of the Federation Dairy Companies yesterday, Mr J. R. C'o’rignn mentioned the matter of the expenses of entertaining the delegates. Fe said Messrs Murdoch and Preston and himself liad tieen deputed to secure an amount of £IOO from the dairy; companies. They estimated the expenses would he, at least £3OO, of vH-h the town were arranging for £2OO. He reminded them that in Auckland last year the people went to a great deal of trouble and expense to look after the visiting delegates, and lie hoped this district would respond in entertaining the delegates on the first occasion on which the meeting of the N.D.A. would he held in Taranaki, jf it were done well Hnwera would J.ave the meeting every third year. ■ MGane said he heartily approved of the suggestion. Mr Murdoch said it was up to the dairy companies to find the £IOO. Some o? tire larger companies should give more than the smaller. The town committee was very enthusiastic, and was raising two-thirds of the amount required. M- Gibbs (Altont said he would make a -special• appeal to the board. Delegates approved the suggestion, and three —Hnwera, Joll and Eitham — ag'-eed to donate £lO each. The matter was left to the individual companies To do the best they could for the scheme.
