FUSION CONFERENCE.
MR. WILFORD’S ACTION. SUPPORT BY HIS PARTY. (by TEI.EORAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WELLINGTON, June 11. Asked by a Post reporter to-day as fco whether his action in agreeing to a conference with the Reform Party l ad the approval of his party, Mr T. M. Wilford replied: “After Mr Massey’s funeral the Parliamentary members oi out party discussed the question o! fusion, and unanimously authorised iho executive of- the party to agree to elite: into preliminary negotiations if the question arose. The executive then met and authorised me to negotiate terms for the conference, any decision arrived at by the conference having of course to be approved of bv the party. In the arrangement I have made fm the conference, I am carrying out my party’s wishes.
