INTERNATIONAL RUGBY.
A MATTER OF ADMINISTRATION. (BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, June 11. The Rugby Union, replying to a resolution from the International Board regarding the proposal for setting up of an Imperial Advisory Board, expresses regret that the latter had been abandoned, but it strongly objects to a triennial conference, which it is proposed to substitute. The reply points out that the expense and loss 6f time was too great, and besides the conference would not be entrusted with power to legislate. The New Zealand body considers that neither the time nor the expense were justified for a conference every five years, the expense to be met by a levy on every international match, wherever played. It also suggests that as two delegates are to be allowed the English Union on an international board because of its colonial affiliations these two should be allotted one to Africa and one to New South Wales and New Zealand con 7 jointly. ALL BLACKS’ MATCH. NOT SETTLED YET. MAORI TOUR NOT ABANDONED. WELLINGTON, June 11. The Rugby Union has deferred its final decision regarding the match between last and this year’s All Black sides till replies are received from the 1924 players, but if the match takes place Dean, Richardson and Porter, who acted in England, will again select their team. In reply to a protest from Canterbury, it was stated that the Maori tour was not abandoned. and the union was awaiting a reply from Mr Parata as to certain details.
