TARANAKI WINTER SHOW.

A CREDITABLE DISPLAY. (From Our Own Reporter.) For the first time in many years the New Plymouth annual winter show has been able to do itself justice so far as accommodation is concerned. The show committee recently added to the Coronation Hall another larger building, which is divided into two fairly laige halls. Consequently a greater space was given up to exhibition without anj detrimental effect on the competitive portion. A feature of New Plymouth s premier annual attraction is the motor exhibition. All the most prominent cars occupy a id ace in showing all the latest models in this means of locomotion. Another feature is the various cooking demonstrations. There are the upholders of the gas stoves, and thennew competitors of electricity are also there in very strong force. As usual, various tradespeople hate exhibitions, and many of these are extremely creditable, especially in the furnishing trade. As for the real show the entries have been a record, and extremely good standards have been reached. The root crops show great care in production, and the results are well worth seeing. Exceptional entries in the butter and cheese sections occupy a considerable portion of the exhibits, and are undoubtedly the results of much effort on the part of the dairy factory assistants. The home industries section has been well filled, and together with the needlework make a very fine display. The eoultrv section is well represented, and "competition is very keen in the various classes. Taken as a whole the show has made great strides, and a display distinctly creditable to all concerned has been provided for the education and edification of visitors.
