(From Our Own Correspondent.) YOUNG PEOPLE’S CLUB. Having held five weekly meetings the Young People’s Club is in full running order. Tnere is a large membership list, and each Monday night a merry crowd collects in the Oddi'e lows’ Hall. On Monday last an instructive lecture was given by Dr. Davies on the subject of health, in which the best habits of diet, exercise, and recreation were pointed out. A good supper was kindly provided by Mesdames Dakers and Gamlin. Games, competitions, and a ping-pong tournament completed a very p’easant evening. PERSONAL. Miss B. Howard, who was for some years connected with the Manaia- telephone exchange, and who i s now on the staff of the Palmerston North exchange, is on a visit to her people at Manaia. R.S.A. At a meeting of the Manaia Returned Soldiers’ Association, held oh Monday evening, it was unanimously decided that arrangements for the children’s fancy dress. bal| in connection with the association’s annual hall be left in the hand’s of the band’s ladies’ committee, the proceeds to be given in aid of the band’s funds. The ladies are holding rehearsals on Monday and Friday afternoons for the children. .
