DE PINEDO. AIM TO CIRCLE THE WORLD. by cable—press association— copyrighi ROME, June o. De Pinedo is making plans to attempt a world flight. Simultaneously with his departure from Tokyo to cross the Pacific a squadron of aeroplanes leaves Italy for America to escort him home. Ihe squadron will use trans-Atlantic passenger vessels as aids, desc-end.ng to them in case of need, for spare parts or other help.
SERVICE TO AVIATION. CREW OF R 33 HONOURED. LONDON, June 5. Sir Samuel Hoave (Secretary of State for Air) at a special function at Pulham aerodrome, presented medals to the chief officers of R 33, and inscribed gold watches to the rest of the crew. Sir Samuel said their skill had converted what might have been a catastrophe into a great benefit to airship development, by the means of which flights to Australia and New Zealand were brought hearer. -
