SOUTH TARANAKI WINTER SHOW.
"A WEEK FOR MT. EGMONT.”
Every year a special feature is attached to the South Taranaki. \v inter, *how, which serves to make it stand out from every other show of its kind. This year the value of Taranaki’s heritage and Hawe-ra’s opportunity is being emphasised. Nature-s endowment of scenic beauties* has been given in tull measure to South Taranaki, for' whi'e its/dairy ' land is among tJhiei richest in the British Empire, that wonderful sentinel, . Mt. Egmont, no doubt contributes t<< the wealth of its products. This wonderful mountain,, combining ' beauty with a practical' source of fertility for the province, will be the feature at this year’s show. And it is associated specially with dawera and .South Taranaki. A great effort is being made to secure the utmost publicity, for these great national assets. At the show there will be a striking collection of over 2000 photographs in the Publicity Department’s exhibit, and included. in the collection will be a fine series showing the mountain and district in a’.l its phases. This will be one of the outstanding displays at the show.
Then a great V attraction - fo-r the farmers will be the annual, meeting of the National Dairy Association, held for the first time in its history in Taranaki. There will be some hundreds of delegates from a'l parts, of New Zeaalnd, and Hawera. people, in conjunction with the Automobile Association are arranging, a great tour to the Mountain, showing them en route evidences of the fertility of the lands of South Taranaki, as well as the scenic beauties of the mountain. In the sections- always attached to. the show will be* forestry, ’schooled farm and garden, honey. * fancy work, home industries, hoys, .and girls!. agricultural clubs, and there is .a special schools schedule, which will’be posted to anyone on . application. The poultry section includes four championships for Golden Wyandotfces, male and female; utility white Leghorn, male and female. All particulars, and schedules "’ill be 'seiit on anplication tofi the secretary, Mr L. O. Hooker, P.O. Pox 79. Hawera. with whom entries close for school sections on .Tune 11, end for other classes June 13. Intending exhibitors are asked to send entries as early as possible to > the secretary. . •
