GOLF.

HAAVERA MEN’S CLUB. At a committee meeting of the Hawera Men’s Golf Club yesterday, various items of business connected with the affairs of the club were dealt with. The report of the secretary ■showed that the membership was growing steadily. The following additional new members were elected: Messrs Bremner, Palgetty, McNaughton, H. E. Robinson, C. Robb, Strange, junr.,' and AValkley. . Mr F. AY. Sutton was elected to the Match Committee in place of Mr A. E. Gorton, resigned. Air AY. 0. AVil-' lianis was appointed to the Green Committee. Arrangements for the visit of the Eltham Club team were completed. THE ELTHAM MATCH. STRONG TEAM VISIT HAAA ER A. The weather was not favourable for golf this morning when the Eltham Club sent a team to Hawera , to play a match with the local Men’s Club. The fairways and greens were in good order. Two series of matches were played, one in the morning and ihp other in the afternoon.
