At the conclusion of a three days' debate on the Moroccan question, the Chamber passed a vote of confidence in the Government by 537 votes* to 29. This la,rge majority is due to- the* careful phrasing of the resolution, notably to meet the susceptibilities of Socialists, who stipulated for the insertion of reference to a pacific policy and recording opposition to colonial expansion.
