The .sale was unreserved, except for three animals, and in each of tnese cases tne reserve was far above tne mghest bid. The two-year neiiei Meadowvale Lady Wayward, by Meadow vale -Farmer's Glory Magnets Peggy, born August 14, 1923, was passed in at 80 guineas, tlie reserve oeing 300 guineas. On the two-year-old LVleadowvale Everlasting, by Marsn-u Aldar (imp.)—Suitan’s Daisy, born September 6, 1923, the owners' reserve was 500 guineas. It Urns the only daughter of the famous cow Sultan's Daisy ever submitted for auction, and that fact mane it an interesting incident in the sale. Bidding went up to 300 guineas, but the reset,e urn being reached the heifer was passed in at that figure. Another heiler, whose grand dam was Sultan’s Daisy, ran up to 80 guineas, but the reserve put on by the owners was 300 guineas. On the year ing bull Meadowvale Zema Gambodge, whoso sire was Xema’s Oxford Lad, and dam Susie Gambodge, reached 50 -guineas, and was then passed in, the reserve being 100 guineas. Twelve heifers and two buds were sold. The heifers aeveraged about 33 guineas, only half of last year’s average. The best figure was secured by the two-year-old Meadowvale Victress, which was sold to a Greytown buyer for 57 guineas. Another heifer out of Oakea’is Maid secured 50 guineas from a Kaimata breeder. Messrs C. E. Williams and J. C. Broad conducted the sale on behalf of the respective firms. Among the sales effected were the following:— , Heifers.
