AUCKLAND TRAINING NOTES. (by TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) . AUCKLAND, May 26. The weather was fine and the tracks, despite the recent rain, in good order for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. No. 1 grass track and the hurdles erected outside of the course proper were available. On No. 1 grass track Bute Sound defeated Right and Left and Tresillian over seven furlongs run in 1.36. Gala Day beat Sleepy Sol over six furlongs in 1.18 4-5. Wliizbro finished in front of Allegiance at the end of six furlongs, the last four taking 54- 3-ssee. Balliymoy was better than Charlady over six furlongs, run in 1.21 1-5. Namutere was too good for Exactly over five furlongs, covered in 1.4 4-5. After breakfast Royal Form and Uralla covered the last three furlongs of a sprint in 41sec. Marble Bell was in front of Joy Ride over the last five furlongs of a sprint, taking 1.10 2-5. Llewellyn beat Ginger Carl in a round, run in 2.6 4-5. Arch Amie, Cohesion, and Miss Elion were in that order at the end of five furlongs, run in 1.10 2-5. Peach Brandy, Sir Archie, and Companion went fou.u fin-longs in 53sec, finishing as named. Pompey did four furlongs in 51 4-5 sec.
Killute, \\'altzer. Barometer and Quin coma finished in that order over five furlongs in 1.7. Lady Ridicule ran half a mil© in 54 2-5 sec.
The jumpers Sir Ro.seberrv, Boomerday, Narrow Neck, Mary Bruce and Young Thurnham set out over five hurdles on the course proper. Young Thurnham fell at the hurdle along the back, and his rider (McTavish) had his collarbone broken and was taken to hospital. Sir Roseberry was in front at the finish, with Boome.rday, Narrow Neck and Alary .Bruce next. Kawini, Auburn, Marble Glass and Kauri Park were given a similar task. Marble Glass fell at the hurdle along the hack, but* was remounted, while Kauri Park fell on the flat. Kawini was an easy winner from Auburn. Irish Jig* Bright Light, Yankee Dan and Poteen went for a round over the hurdles in the centre of the course. Yankee Dan fell ; Irish Jig was in front at the finish. Yankee Dan afterwards jumped two hurdles. Panache jumped the hurdles in the centre well. Aircraft was given „a school over the hurdles in the centre, but jumped high. i Butcher and Pukehuia were allotted a similar task. Peter Amans. Gambler’s Gold and SJeintillaLion set out for a round over the big fences, including the hill. Scintillation dislodged his rider at the water jump, and, after getting over the next obstacle, the atone wall, was pulled nil. Peter Amans jumped well throughout, and was a comfortahe winner .from Gambler’s Gold. Highway, Chaplin and Serene Have arrived. AUCKLAND SCRATCHINGS. AUCKLAND, May 26. Carawock and Awake were scratched at 2.55 p.m. yesterday for all engagements at the Auckland winter meeting. WELL-KNOWN HURDLER DEAD. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT v MELBOURNE, May 26. Jack-staff. winner of last year’s National Hurdle Race, broke a leg while training and was destroyed.
