Mil HECTOR- T. MELLOW’S HERD. lUBBONWGOD STOCK DISPERSED. ALL LOTS CHANG* HANDS. Approximately 200 Jersey cattlemen and others interested in the breed attended the unreserved dispersal sae of Air Hector T. Mellow's ‘-Ribbomvood” pedigree Jersey herd, conducted at Kaponga vesterdav by Messrs ewton King, Ltd. .Buyers operating were representative of various parts ol Taranaki, and also of the Hamilton, Gisborne and Palmerston North districts. The whole of the fifty-seven animals brought into, the ring were disposed of at figures which, in com.son with preceding sales this season, may be regarded as eminently satisfactory, though below the prices which have rued during the last few seasons for stock showing such prominent buttor-fV-r producing strains. ■> ton price of 59 guineas was paid :.)v Mr E. A. Raker, of, Mangatoki, for the four-vear-old cow Round Bush Alymy, 12072 (Belvedere Aladdin— Eaton Mvmy) an animal of good type, tracing back through the sire to the noted K.C.B. and through the clam to Molina’s General. Bred by Mr C. A. Voifilaire. this cow lias a C.O.R. ol 541.65 lbs of fat as a junior two-year-old. There were realised for two other cows oOtnis. Sweet Roue, 8506 (Sherry’s Pox of Co’iingwood—-Hope’s Sweet Faoivitc.* and Molina’s Shamrock, 4824 'Melina’s Primrose—Springbnnk Shamrocki, the former having a C.O.R. of 601.93 lb fat, and the latter 635.32 lb. These animals were secured respective! by Messrs Kirton Bros., Kohuratahi, and Mr G. Cowling, Mannia. The thirty-one cows submitted sold at an average of £2B 15s, while the heifers, numbering twenty-three, averaged £2B 14s. The herd sire, Oakland’s Paddy (Miro Meadow’s Paddy—Oakland’s Snowstorm) fell to the bid of Mr J. P .Murphy, Dawson Falls, at 40 gns, and two younger males brought 11 and lOgns respectively. 'The auctioneers’ duties were shared bv Messrs C. ‘Williams (Stratford) and K. Kirk (New Plymouth), the organisation of the sale being directed by Mr W. B.
