He would, lie hoped, he elected a member of the advisory board to the War Funds Council, and would act as a link between the council and Taranaki. Messrs. J. F. Stevenson and G. Power thanked all for their kindly expressions of appreciation, and .said it had been a pleasure to work with the executive, one of the best in the Dominion,. He referred to the schemes evolved by the association, and said that some_of these had not been altogether popular at first, but had proved so at a later date. At times; the executive had had to refuse grants, and they had done so. without fear or favour. Tbs operations, had always been very practical, for it had always been out- to assist the sick and wounded soldiers.
