Air Vice-Marshal Sir fief ton Rrancker, Director of Civil Aviation, has announced that freight-carrying aeroplanes are profitably carrying goods at the rate of 4s 6d per ton per mile, and that with the new aircraft now being constructed this rate can be -reduced to 2s 6d. at, which price aircraft may successfully compete with railways.
