She concludes: “Th© condolences received from the fanners of the Dominion, whose welfare my late' husband always had so much at heart, have deeply touched me.” On Saturday evening the members of the Hawera Club took formal fairewell of Mr Thos. Taylor, general manager of the Farmers’ Co-op. Society, prior to his departure for Wellington. The president, Mr H. A. Foyster, on behalf of the members, presented- Mr Taylor with a solid leather suit case as a token of esteem.

A meeting of the Labour 1 party to discuss the contesting of the Patea seat, will be held at the Foresters’ Hall this_evening at 8 o’clock. Friends and! supporters are invited to attend. At the annual meeting of the Egmont' A. and P. Association on Saturday a vote of sincere condolence with Mrs. Massey and the family of the late Rt. Hon. W, F. Massey was unanimously carried by the members present. The president said that no words of his could express" the feelings of regret felt by all on the lamented death of Mr Massey. His death was a severe loss to the whole community, the whole Dominion, and perhaps most of all to the farming industry in gen-. eral.
