PEDIGREE JERSEYS.
SALE AT J. SOHEUBER’S. • THREE LOTS SUBMITTED. DEMAND STILL WEAK. The second lots of pedigree Jersey cattle for the season in this district were submitted by the Farmers’ Co-" operative yesterday, when forty-one head were offered on behalf of Mr. J.. Sc he Liber, six for John Nieolson, and twenty-one for Mr. H. Mullions. There was a fair attendance of prospective! buyers, including a few from outside the district, but bidding was very slack and prices were, as Qn the previous day, <by no means commensurate with the class and type of cattle offered. Of Mr. Scheuber’s, twenty female cattle and three- bulls were quitted, while of Mr. Mull-ion's -only three females and one bull were transferred. Mr. Nicolson’s cattle- were all withdrawn, the owner’s estimate- of value not being reached Mr. G: G. Trotter again wielded the hammer for the firm, and even bis persuasive eloquence and popular personality could not persuade buyers to take the opportunities offered. The- wet weather no doubt kept away some probable- buyers and prevented the conditions being as favourable as they might .have been. As in Mr. Short’s case the assemblage of buyers allowed the owners one bid, and this meant that quite a number failed to reach the owner’s, reserve of" value..
