UNWRITTEN LAW

A NEW FORM

A GIRL EXONERATED

CHICAGO SHOOTING CASE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COP VRIGH f. (Received May 23, 8.50 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 22. A new form of unwritten law was invoked when Lucille Wauneli explained that she shot her father and Agnes Hemnenek because the boldness of the latter in living with her father caused her to temporarily lose control of herself. She stated she only intended to scare Hemnenek, and did not realise the revolver was loaded. The coroner’s jury exonerated Miss Waunch. —Sydney Sun Cable. Lucille Waunch, the fifteen-year-old daughter of a wealthy Chicago resident, found him living with Agnes Hemnenek. Charging the latter with breaking up their home, she shot and seriously wounded Hemnenek, and then shot her father dead. Mrs Waunch, who attempted to intervene between the frenzied daughter and the victims, was also wounded.
