FROSTS, DROUGHT’S, AND GRUBS
A.s a result of the early frosts, drought, and grubs, it is estimated that many thousands of pounds have been lost by vegetable-growers in the Bathurst (N.S.AV.) district. At Lagoon, where the choicest cauliflowers are, generally grow/i, the crop this year i« practically a failure, owing to the ravages of the grub, which is usually more troublesome in dry weather. Early frosts almost annihilated potato and tomato* crops. For vegetables the season lias been tlie worst experienced here for years.
