THE WEATHER.
ITS EFFECT QN DAIRYIING. Although the mild weather and the bountiful rainfall experienced during the early part of -this month has resulted in a slight growth of grass which should make the problem of winter feeding a -little easier, the warmth has had'a detrimental effect on one branch of the dairying industry. It is pointed out by factory managers that the mild weather came too late in the season to do much good, as thesup ply had already slackened irreparably. The result was that some of the factories had commenced an eyeryday service and consequently the close nights had seriously affected the .quality cjf the produce manufactured. It is interesting to note that during: the month 1.91 inches of rain has fallen of which .31 inches fell between 9 a.m. yesterday and the same- timethis -morning.
The Dominion Meteorologist reports as l’ol'ows: —The indications are for' variable and moderate breezes, northerly moderate to strong prevailing and backing by north to .west. Expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts. Rain probable. The barometer has a falling tendency. Sea moderate, 'tides poor.
