CHRISTCHURCH, May 20. At a meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association today the Taranaki Trotting 'Club forwarded full-particulars of the meetings of its judicial committee, as the result of which Harry Daniel, of Waverley, had been disqualified for three years for nominating the black gelding Sweet Prince (Sweet Patch —Princess Ena) as Takapo (Brooklyn —Nancy) for two events to be decided at the Taranaki Club’s meeting on April 18; also for allegedly making false statements when giving evidence before the committee. The horse was disqualified for three years. . ,
Against this decision H. H. Daniel appealed. He was permitted to be represented by counsel, and Mr R. H. Quilliam, of New Plymouth, appeared on his'behalf. Mr T. H. Davev, chief stipendiary steward, represented tho club. _ . The case was taken in committee. On resuming, it was resolved that the case be referred back to tbe Taranaki Trotting Cluli with the following recommendations: “That specific charges of making false Datements he made against. H. Daniel, and that lie be called upon to' show cause why he should not be dealt with under the rules.” The president said the Taranaki Trotting Chib was a new club as far as a totalisntor meeting was concerned, and it was to be complimented on the manner in which it, had gone into the case and submitted it to the association.
