EMPIRE PRESS CONFERENCE.

LORD BURNHAM’S VIEWS,

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received May 20, 12.5 p.m. LONDON, May 19. The long 'absence entailed in attending the Empire Press Conference in Australia has caused a. few newspaper proprietors to reluctantly reject imitations.

Lord Burnham, in an interview, said that Australia could rest assured that the delegation would 'be thoroughly representative of the proprietors and editors, who were all seized with a desire to better understand the problems and help in t'he development of Australia. He was sure the conference would be a splendid proof that blood was much thicker than any quantity of separating water. Personally he was very glad of an opportunity of at last seeing Australia.— Atts.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
