The Times’ Rome correspondent says that the Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, is determined to destroy Italian Freemasonry. In a speech in the Chamber in connection with a Bill for the regulation of secret societies, he declared that he was shocked to find that high State officials, teachers and others frequented lodges and took orders therefrom. This state of affairs must cease. He saw no reason to justify the existence of Freemasonry. Nowadays Freemasonry consistently attacked the Fascismo, and for which reason the Fascismo was fully within its rights ir. counter-attacking its enemy.—Times.
