FOOTBALL PLAYER INJURED. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATIONWELLINGTON, May 18. Nolan Smith, of the Boys’ institute soccer team, received a broken right leg in a match, on Saturday through coming into collision with another player, ANOTHER, FOOTBALL ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND, May. 18. J. L. I.indberg, aged 20, of P'ukeka.wa., fractured his skull while, playing football on the Domain on Saturday. He was admitted to, the hospital, where he is progressing favourably. A. LUCKY ESCAPE, CHRISTCHURCH. May 18. A sensation;d accident occurred at Clifton Hill, Sumner, yesterday, when a three-sea,ter oar, driven by J. Reid, refused to answer the brake. It burst through a fence and slid over a cliff. Just when the car was a, few yards off a sheer drop of two hundred feet. Reid grabbed the wheel and slewed the ciar into some maeroc&-*f>a trees, where it stopped. Tt was not damaged. Many people were on the road below at the time.
