SIR OLIVER LODGE.

MARVELS OF ETHER

‘A M-SOLUTE LY PERM AN ENT. ’ ’

LONDON, Mav 6

Sir Oliver Lodge, in a book entitled “Ether and Reality,” describes ether as “our real primary and absolutely permanent instrument, and tbe densest tiling known.” “It is the framework of the universe,” Sir. Oliver says. “Matter is emptiness contrasted with ether, which has two functions—to weld atoms bycohesion, and the planets and stars by gravitation, I believe that we human beings may surmise that-, like the ether, we have a more permanent and perfect existence not liable to death and decay.”
