The late Viscount Leverh.ulrne was buried beside his wife in tile Port Sunlight churchyard: ’ The funeral was a remark able tribute to his personality. Vast crowds lined the road and guards of honour were formed by Lever Bros.’ boatmen, ex-service men, Birkenhead Sea Scouts, while the whole of the grass space in the churchyard was reserved for thousands of Sunday school children..
