JAPANESE MIGRATION.
ENCOURAGED BY MEXICO. FAVOURED NATION TREATMENT. ACCORDED BY NEW TREATY. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received May 11, 9.50 a.m. MEXICO CITY, May 10. Under the new treaty, it has been announced that Mexico treats Japan as a favoured nation. The Japanese will he encouraged to come with their families. as well as to inter-marry, as they have already been doing, and to engage in all kinds of industrial, agricultural and professional pursuits. Special encouragement will ‘be- given to Japanese insurance companies. It is significant in view of the fact that powerful American companies withdrew from Mexico ten years ago because conditions were bad. Japanese' are exempted from military service, and are assured of rights of port entry and duties similar to those conceded on goods from aboard Mexican boats. — Sydney Sun Cable.
