ERADICATING BROWN HEART. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Mav 8, 11.30 a.m. > LONDON, May 7. A new instrument in connection with the efforts to eradicate brown heart in apples while the ship’s storage- chambers has been made by research "scientists of Cambridge University and dispatched to Australia for trial on the fruit lioats coming home. Mr. Pearce, fruit expert of the overseas farming co-operative federation, explains that the instrument, records the atmosphere in the storage chamber by chemical process, and greatly simplifies the delicate process of ventilation.
