N.Z. FARMERS’ UNION.

SOUTH TARANAKI EXECUTIVE. At. the ordinary meeting of the Executive for South Taranaki of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union held yesterday, there were, present: Messrs. R Dunn (chair), R. R. Pierce, A. J. Haseltiue, H. Hodge, E. J. Betts H. R, Wood, W. T. Seed, John Forbes, S Huston, H. A. Sutherland. \V. 11.I 1 . London, J. .0. Duff and the secretaiy (Mr. E, K. Cameron). BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ CLUB. The secretary reported that there had been a meeting with the oi gangers and With Mr Dunn, when the la rite,- handed over his cheque lor prizes to Alton ancl Kakaramea for calf rearing. A resolution of thanks to Mr, Dunn was passed by the members. NEW MEMBERS. The president urged all farmers to become members and said that there should be no need of canvassers, but that they should all join for their own so -° a ' LEVY ON BRANCHES. In regard to subscriptions and subsidy it was decided to refer the matter, for* discussion at the annual conferCIUA ‘ ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The date for the annual. Provincial Conference was fixed for Tuesday,. Ylay 19. at Hawer-a. in- connection therewith various remits were submitted to the meeting for forwarding on to the Conference for consideration and discussion, these dealt with a variety of subjects of interest and value to the farmers of the Dominion.

FARMERS’ SCHOOL. The president brought up the question of the farm school to be held at Manaia from June 15 to 22. He delegates to go hack to, their branches and strongly advise all members to enrol and to attend as often as they can. He stressed the need of supporting the school, from which, he was sure much good could be obtained by everyone. Mr. Deem was. anxious to irgt a large entry, which .would ensure having the school again next year, and besides, said the president, .it will be a compliment to the instructors and lecturers ACCUUNTS. The secretary read a- draft of the balance-sheet, following which tliere was a general discussion. Accounts due were passed and the meeting then .adjourned.
