IN FREEZING WORKS. COMPANY CLOSES FOR SEASON. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. GISBORNE, May 7. A dispute has arisen at the Tokomaru Bay Freezing "Works, as an outcome of which the men withdrew. It is reported that the works have been closed down for the season. The trouble is stated to have arisen over the employment of a butcher formerly employed at the works who, after working elsewhere, applied for reemployment, hut was not given a job. The employees decided to come out in sympathy. In view of the action of the men the company has. it is stated, decided to close down for the season. Forty to 50 men are affected.
