ALLEGED THEFT OF MAIL BAG. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION PALMERSTON N.r May 6. At the: Supreme Court- before Mr Justice Re.ed, William Robb, a young man, was charged on five charges: (V) That on March 10th, 1924, at Mangaore, he did steal from a postal packet £l3O. the property of the New Zealand Government; (2) nt the same, place did steal a mail bag, also the property or the Government: (3) did wilfully open the said mail bag;, (4) did receive £65, part of the £l3O, knowing it to have been stolen : (5) at the same place did receive the. said mail Dag, knowing it to have been stolen. The case is the sequel to the theft of a mail bag between Arapeti and Shannon last year. The evidence is on the lines of that given in the lower court. The case is proceeding.
