SCOUTS PARADE.
IN NEW HALL
About 25 scouts assembled fo r the first parade in the new Scout Hall'iii Albion Street on Monday night, The boys being under the command of Cine: Scoutmaster Booth. Scoutmaster Hitchcock and Sub-master Pettett, Mr. E. Dixon (chairman of the Scout’s committee) and Messrs E. Evans, ,i CHobbs and Wainwright (members of the committee) were also piesont. Mr. Dixon addressing the scouts, ad vis/d each to try and' 'n crease tinranks by bringing along a new member. If they did that it would not be long before their number would be Ti creased to one hundred. He said that the scouts now had their own building and he hoped they would look after it. Proceeding, Mr; Dixon said that if the scouts observed the Scout Law they would become citizens of whom Hawera would lie proud. some people made money-making their chief arm in life, but he hoped the boys would aim at higher ideals, those ideals which would build good character. In conclusion Mr. Dixon eomnlimeii.ed the troup on their neat appearance.
