STABILISATION IN N.S.W. BY CABLE—-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT SYDNEY, May; 5. The New (South Wales dairy industry' stabilisation committee has circularised all butter and cheese factories in the State, asking them to enter into a voluntary agreement to give effect to a scheme for raising the level of local butter and cheese prices by' 3d to Ijd per pound .respectively. The circular says the scheine provides for the payment of an export, bounty on butter and cheese, which is provided by means of a levy on the industry, the amount levied to vary according to the ratio of the exportable surplus to the local sales. The arrangement is to be- for twelve, months and will cost consumers in New South Wales an additional £3,090,009. Similar action will need to be taken in all the States, as 'the scheme can only become operative if uniformity of action is secured.
