TROUBLE AT HIKURANGI. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. WHANGAREI, April 30. In consequence of three truckers being put on hew coal at Wilson’s mine, Hikurangi, the afternoon shift refused to turn to unless the three men were replaced b’y hewers who were out of employment. The demand was refused and one hundred and fifty miners downed tools.

A meeting of the Miners’ Union last night decided against working Wilson’s colliery until a solution was obtained with at a conference with the directors. It was anticipated that an adjustment will be leached soon.
