YOUNG PEOPLE’S CLUB. .ANNUAL. MEETING AND SOCIAL. Jn spite of somewhat dismal wmithe; conditions, a large gathering of young j>eople assembled in the v kid fellows Hall on Monday last for the purpose of inaugurating the 1925 season. An enjoyable programme of games, eic.. was carried through, the winners ot the different events being Misses 0. Hansen, M. Forbes, and J’'. Lewin. The annual report stated that a \e:.\ successful season had been held last year. Satisfaction was expressed that, though inexperienced, young members had "acquitted themselves so well in speaking and in the conduct of meet nigs. The concluding banquet had been an outstanding success. The re port, with the balance-sheet, which showed a small credit, was adopted. The following officers were elected ■ President. Mr. H. Allen; vice-presi-dent, Miss M. Armitage; committee. Misses M. Young, M. Row S. Lewin, and Messrs J. Hammonds and AY. Armitage, At a subsequent committee meeting Air. J. Hammonds was elected socretarv and Miss M. Young treasurer, with Mr. AY. Armitage assistant treasurer. It was decided that the subscription he Ms under 18 years and 5s over. Rev. J. I). Smith’s offer of a trophy for the ping-pong tournament was accepted with thanks. Votes of thanks to the outgoing officers and the auditor, Mr. TC. J. Judd concluded the business meeting. The tooie for next week will be a lecture bv Miss Jessie Burls, “Happy without it.” A very successful season seems to promise for the club, judging by the enthusiasm shown on the opening night. *
