THE BAND ON ANZAC DAY.
(To tiie Editor.-) Sir, —As one of the large audience who attended the Anzae Day service 1 feel J must congratulate the Ha we r a Municipal Band on the capable manner in which it carried out the musical part of the service. To me, like many hirers, the result was a surprise, and it was very evident that considerable time and thought must have been t>i\en to every detail, in order to create the correct atmosphere and solemnity which js necessary for such a service. This occasion brought home very forcibly the value of a good 1 band in the town, and it must Ire very gratifying to the Borough Council to see success attending its efforts when it decided to subsidise the band. I n conclusion, I. wi’sh Lieut. Fox and his men the best of luck, and maytheir successes he manv.I—l 1 —I am, etc., ADMITTED.
