There was little combined play, owing to the effective breakingup tactics of both sets of halves. Towards the end Cardiff made desperate efforts, and might have equalised, hut failed owing to wretched shooting bv their forwards and insides. Sheffield recovered their grip and held out to the finish, upon which the crowd broke through arid shouldered Tunstall and Gillespie to the stand, where the Duke of York presented the cup anti medals.

Mr. Ramsay MacDonald occupied a seat immediately next to the Royal box, and had to rise repeatedly and acknowledge cheers. The Duke and Duchess at half-time invited, him into the Royal box.
