Arthur Crofton, the manager of the London Coliseum, tells a good story of a Rugby football match, says the London Daily Chronicle. He was playing “as an old crock” a few years ago, and. owing to the age of the majority of the players, the game was punctuated with five-minute intervals for rest, refreshments being brought on the, ’ field at’each interval. “I,” says the amiable Arthur, “was carried oft after the second interval!” It is said that Cooke, the All Black back would not he adverse to taking up his residence in Masterton, and that one club is already in communication with him on the subject. It has been known that several of the most prominent of the All Blacks would give un football on their reutrn. An exchange from the South says of this subject, that J. H. Parker is doubtful.'“Son’’ White is getting married, and he has announced to his fellows that he will retire. Alf. West, also, is giving the game best, and L. F. Clippies has matrimonial ideas, and is not expected to play much more.
