Park, lately acting as Assistant Public Service Commissioner, has been appointed Assistant .Secretary to the "Treasury, says a Wellington Press Association message. , During the Tvaponga v. Okalawa semi-final game of the seven-a-side tourney at tilth am yesterday, Eddie Scott, a Kapanga player,, whose name is well known in athletic circles, met with a nasty fall, wricking his left knee badly and injuring an internal cartilage. It was the effects of this injury which subsequently ooiniielled him to retire from the final game. His many friends will regret to learn that the knee afterwards became badly swollen and will require careful attention, and this will prevent his active participation in sport for an indefinite period. The stirring strains of the bagpipes now frequently heard in. Praiotiees. are being regu;larlv held under the instruction of Mr, JY P. Crawford, of Elthani, and there are quite sufficient Scots in Haw era to srive the band a royal baptism on its first parade.
