WEDDING BELLS.

REVELL—BUTLER

A very popular w.edding was celebrated at the Presbyterian Church, Kaponga, on Wednesday evening, when George James, second son of Mr and Mrs John Revell, of Kaponga, was married to Rae, third daughter of Mr and the late Mrs G. Butler, of W anganui, formerly of Manaia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. A. Moore. The church was crowded, that being insufficient accommodation for the large gathering of wed-wishers, a considerable number of whom were unable to gain admittance. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an attractive gown of cream satin embroidered with pearls. The dainty court veil was fastened at the- head bv a handsome pearl ornament, r„n d she carried a bouquet of white chrvsanthemums ancl maidenhair fern.'the gift of the bridegroom’s parents. She was attended as a bridesmaid by her sister Maude, who was attired in a pretty dress of blue marocain, trimmed with feathers, and also wore a charming picture hat of cream marocain. She carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums, also the gift of the bridegroom’s parents. The bridegroom’s «ift to the bridesmaid was an eloquently-fashioned gold brooch inscribed with her initials. Mr Norman McFar’ane officiated as best man. The reception was held at the Kaponga Town Hall, where the guests numbering 150 were received by. Mrs A. Melville, aunt of the bride/ An appropriate repast was provided, and the usual toast list was honoured, after which the bride and bridegroom, amid enthusiastic felicitations, preferred to the accompaniment of showers of contetti and rice, left for Hawera en route, to Nelson, and subsequently to Hawke’s Bay district, where the honeymoon is to b. e spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a smart’ blue costume trimmed with fur, with hat to match. An on lovable dance, at which excellent music was provided bv the Mouat family orchestra, concluded the function. As M.C. Mr \V. Marr arranged a well-ba'pnced programme, and at a late hour the time-hen on red “~Anld Lang Syne” marked the dispersal of the gathering. t . y
