HAWERA ABATTOIR.
RECORDS FOR 1924 AND 1926
The returns, for the Hawera abattoir as supplied to the Hawera. Borough Council during March showed -that there were slaughtered two bullocks, 95 cows, oG heifers, 386 sheep, 38 lambs, 25 calves, 80 pigs, and the fees received £IOB 12s sd, sixpence less than for March, 1924. Stock condemned were one cow, two sheep and one laifnb. The fees for the yelar were £3 2s 6d in exeeis» of last year. During the year ended March 31, 1925, the figures were; —Stock slaughtered : Cattle 1901 (1920), sheep 4771 (4-789), lambs 877 (1012), calves 282 (238). pigs 1048 (941). Condemnations: Cattle 29 (14), calves 1 (0), sheep 12 (7), lambs 1 (0), pigs 14 (11). ■ (Previous year’s figures in parentheses.) Fees a.nd rents totalled £1373 4s 3d (£1267 4s 3d and £lO6 respectively). Earnings for year as above £1373 4s 3d, arrears from prior year (rent and fees) £lB 15s -3d—£1391 19s sd; amount collected £1383 5s Bd. fees outstanding (period 28/31. March) £8 13s 9d. Actual receipts as above were £1383 5s 8d and expenditure £I3OB Is lOd, showing a credit of £75 3s lOd on the year’s working.
