STOKE POGES SAVED
WORLD-WIDE APPEAL SUCCEEDS
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT, LONDON, April 20. A world-wide appeal for funds to restore Stoke Poges Church (where Grey wrote his famous Elegy) and purchase, the adjoining ten acres, has been successful. The land will shortly be handed over as a national trust, and Grey’s Church will thus be saved as a beauty spot. Australians and New Zqalanders subscribed generously.
