The weekly luncheon in connection with the Hawera Rotary Club was held to-clav, the president (Dr W. M. Thomson) presiding. Tlie visitors included a friend from Auckland and a rotarian from Hamilton. The president announced that two new members had been elected in accordance with the rules. Official confirmation was received from Rotary International headquarters of the acceptance of the Hawera Club. The soloists of the day were the president and Rotarian W. G. Strange. In place of a set address for the day a discussion took place on the best means of entering upon' “Boys-’ Work,” which constitutes one of the main objects of the rotarian organisation. It was finally left with the Boys’ Work Committee to get in touch with scoutmasters and others already engaged in this class of community work and to report at a. later meeting. An invitation was received for members to be present at the opening of the Plunket Society ’s new rooms. The roll call showed that there were two absentees only.
