(From 'Our Own Correspondent). SEYEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. There is sure to lie a large attend ance at the 7-a-side football tournament to be held in the Manaia Domain on Saturday. Several of the best Taranaki teariis will be taking part, and very keen contests are expected. All arrangements are well in hand. The Mills Rugby Cup is at present 'held by the Hawera. Football Club, and the Manaia citizens’ Soccer cup-is at present held by the Kaponga Soccer Club. MEETING. OF COMMITTEE. A general meeting or the Hibernian Sports Club Seven-a-side Eootball Touinament Committee was held last evening, ‘ when there was a large attendance, Mr J. A. Hansen presiding. The chairman stated that ihe secretary and he had made all arrangements with the ladies re refreshment and luncheon booth on the ground. He also stated that arrangements m connection with the ground were we!- in hand. / . „ ; A letter was received Irom the secretary of the Manaia Soccer Club, agreeing* to hand over the citizens’ cup for competition to the Sports Cluo, and enclosing conditions, which were considered very satisafetory. Over 15 teams have so far been nominated; The draw will’be left over unfit Saturday morning. . Bet,teridge; goal-keeper, W. Budd. HOOKEY CLUB. A meeting of the Manaia Ladies Hockev Club has been called, to be held in Manaia fire brigade station on Saturday night at 7 o’clock. The meeting is a most important one and all interested are requested to attend.
