WANTED MAN ARRESTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received April 16, 10.30 a.m. SYDNEY, April 16. Following the arrest of two men in the streets, it was discovered that one of the men was wanted in New Zealand on a charge of stealing £73 in connection with a horse sale. MARAMA STILL HELD UP. . SYDNEY, April 15. The Marama is still held up. This morning it was found that eight members of the crew were absent, and there was no response to the call at the shipping master’s office for men to fill the vacancies. Each day it has been found that different members of the crew were absent, and although in the vicinity of the wharf they decline to go on board and will give no reason for their ‘action. MURDER) OF POLICEMAN. DARWIN. April 15. A report has 'been received from Caledon Bay that Constable Bridgeman, who was engaged there keeping the natives in order a'nd completing the search for the supposed missing women from the steamer Douglas Mawson, has been murdered by a black tracker. AN UNLUCKY RIDER. SYDNEY, April 15. During the equestrienne event ovei hurdles at the Royal Agricultural Show, Miss Vera McMillan's mount shied at the hurdles, throwing Miss McMillan to the ground with terrific force. She was taken to hospital suffering . from a badly fractured collarbone and probably other injuries. (Miss McMillan, who is a New Zealander, met with a severe accident at last year’s show at Sydney, and she suffered a fall in the high jump on Monday, but was not injured.)
