During the equestrienne event ovei hurdles at the Royal Agricultural Show, Miss Vera McMillan's mount shied at the hurdles, throwing Miss McMillan to the ground with terrific force. She was taken to hospital suffering . from a badly fractured collarbone and probably other injuries. (Miss McMillan, who is a New Zealander, met with a severe accident at last year’s show at Sydney, and she suffered a fall in the high jump on Monday, but was not injured.)
