ADVANCE GUARD SAILS
GENERAL EXODUS TO-DAY. WAR GAMES COMMENCED. BY GABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received April 15, .12.20 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO, April 14. The advance vessel ol the American Navy left fo.r the scene of the manceuvres in Hawaiian waters. The flagship Seattle also, sailed, bearing Admiral Coontz, .Major-General Hines, Chief of Staff of the Army, who are acting as umpires, also a group, of newspaper publishers and correspondents. The grand exodus begins on the loth, when warc.raft of every description will steam through the Golden Gate. The departure will be recognised by the coast defence guns at the mouth of the harbour, while airplanes wiM scout ahead. Admiral Robison, Commander of the battle fleet, will he aboard the flagship California., He will col’ect and re-align his craft after the bay lias been cleared and open sealed orders from Washington detailing the attack, and then the war game will be under way. , The reception to the 45,000 officers and men of the fleet ends to-day. There will be ■ a grand bail to-night. The sailors’ festivities wound up with baseball games and an entertainment in the civic auditorium. —A. and N.Z. Assn.
