CHORUS GIRL’S CLAIM.
DAMAGES FOR DOG’S BITE
, . . LONDON, March 26. “The jury can see niv leg if they wish,” remarked Dorothy Youklon (IS) in Brighton County Court, and the jury accordingly did. Yoiildon was awarded £67 15b damages and costs from Malcolm Scott, a comedian, formerly on the Tivoli circuit in Australia, and a brother of the late Admiral Sir Scott, for a bite from Scott’s dog. Youklon said the dog bit her leg while performing in the pantomime, “Babes in the Wood,” in which Scott, Yoiildon and the dog appeared in January. It also bit two other girls, but Scott allowed the dog to continue to appear. As chorus girls appear on the stage nowadays with bare legs, Youldon contended the scars would handicap her in obtaining employment. She indignantly denied the suggestion that she had not tried to get work. Sco.ttJs counsel cynically observed : “Your legs are bandaged now, but for how long will the bandage remain after the jury has given its verdict?”
