HAWERA SUCCESSES AT PATEA
A mixed team of half a dozen members of the Hawera A.A. Club visited Patea for the sports there yesterday, and competed with marked success. H Stenning won the mile cycle race and dead-heated with Erickson (Wanga r nui), the West Coast champion, for first in the two miles, while T. Lay won the three miles. C. Bailey, off scratch, ran second in the mile, and G, Collins was second in the consolation race. In the relav race, which was run off scratch, Hawera (Bailev, Collins, C. Shore and T. Lay) won ' from Wanganui and Patea.
