RETURN OF MARX ASSURED. REPUBLICAN REGIME FAVOURED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION - COP Y RIGHT. BERLIN, April 4. The eelction of Marx to the Presidency is regarded as assured. This will be a hard blow to Nationalist ambitions. As the President’s term of office is sceven years, the election will show that a verv considerable and increasing majority of tlie nation favours a Republican regime. The Communists nominated Herr Thaelmann and the Rightists to-day nominate Jarres.
A joint conference between the Cetre Democrat and Social Democrat parties nominated ex-Chancellor Dr. Marx as condidate for the Presidency.
